The Hotel Spa Manager is a key role responsible for the overall operation and management of the hotel spa. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing the staff, and driving revenue growth.

The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in hospitality and management, with a focus on customer service and sales. They should also have experience in spa operations, including knowledge of treatments, products, and equipment.

Key responsibilities for the Hotel Spa Manager include developing and implementing strategies to increase revenue, managing the spa budget, coordinating with other departments in the hotel, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.

Additionally, the Hotel Spa Manager should be a strong leader and team player, able to motivate and inspire their staff to provide exceptional service and drive sales. They should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be interacting with guests, staff, and other stakeholders on a regular basis.

Able to develop and implement SPA operational goals, policies, and procedures. Additionally responsible for leading the efficient and effective Spa operations including short and long-term strategic planning.

Spa Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Always demonstrate sincere customer focus and true appreciation for the guest experience.
  2.  Develop and maintain an adequate professional product program.
  3.  Develop and maintain retail product program.
  4.  Ensure all dealings with guests at the spa and health club area meet or exceed the hotel’s operating standards.
  5.  Ensure all areas of the Spa are kept clean and well-maintained at all times.
  6.  Ensure compliance with all legislation governing the operation of a Spa facility.
  7.  Ensure the guest experience is relaxing and by the hotel’s standards.
  8.  Ensure the health and safety of guests and employees are paramount at all times.
  9.  Ensure consistent Spa experience development to ensure that innovation and uniqueness are maintained.
  10.  Ensure proper inventories of all operating Spa equipment are conducted in line with audit standards to effectively manage operational costs.
  11.  Ensure that the Spa team adheres to all hotel and company operational and service standards.
  12.  Ensure that the spa department follows business conduct and ethics.
  13.  Ensure that the spa department follows hotel policies and procedures including health, hygiene, emergency, and Fire prevention.
  14.  Ensure that the spa department follows safety and maintains confidentiality for all guests and colleagues at all times.
  15.  Ensure all spa, health club, and wellness equipment is maintained in good working order at all times.
  16.  Ensure that all stock and cash items are kept safely under lock and key.
  17.  Able to provide guidance, encourage teamwork, and facilitate related professional work processes.

  19.  Able to liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of the spa operations.

  23.  Able to implement and monitor up-selling strategies to maximize spa and health club operational revenue.

  25.  Be the single point of contact for Dignitaries, VIP, and VVIP guests and coordinate their Spa experience.
  26.  Responsible for checking and overseeing all guest settlements like cash, CC, room settlements, etc.
  27.  Responsible to identify and target specific market segments for potential corporate clientele to promote Spa services.
  28.  Responsible for developing strong product quality and treatment measures.
  29.  Responsible for monitoring and analysing the products and services of competitive Spas, to maintain a competitive advantage.
  30.  Responsible for the department training plan and conducting hands-on training for the new recruitment.
  31.  Responsible for reviewing all guest feedback results and implementing improvements to ensure guest satisfaction.
  32.  Responsible for spa employees’ weekly duty schedules and staff duty charts.
  33.  Coordinate with the engineering department to ensure proper repair and preventive maintenance works of all spa equipment.

  35.  Regularly monitor all equipment for the proper functioning in the Spa and health club area to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
  36.  Prepare annual budget and business Plan to ensure Spa operation is adequately represented.
  37.  Recruit and train Spa employees by hotels or resort sop and guidelines.
  38.  Monitor and review Spa employee’s performance regularly and provide required guidance.
  39.  Manage spa inventory effectively, and follow hotel purchasing standards to ensure audit compliance.
  40.  Hold regular staff meetings to keep staff up to date on all aspects of the Spa’s operation.
  41.  Gather information and remain fully informed of local and international trends in Spa operations.
  42.  Attend daily morning HOD meetings.
  43.  Perform a regular inventory of Spa par levels for retail and operational stocks.
  44.  Raise store requisitions of all retail and operational items as and when required.
  45.  Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require.

Prerequisites:

  • Passionate about the Spa and Fitness world.
  •  Willing to deliver the best service and experience to our guests.
  •  Demonstrated strong leadership, team, and communication skills are essential.
  •  Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  •  Strong working knowledge of Spa, Membership, and recreational software.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Degree / Diploma in hotel/hospitality management.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Spa Manager in a luxury hotel or a well-established SPA brand
